In honor of the super bowl, Green is packers color so lets talk about green design

Normally I am bear fan since I am from Chicago but since the bears are not in the super bowl but the packers are and they are closer to Chicago so I going to cheer for them. Also the Packers colors are green and yellow I am going to talk about something I love very much which is green design. Its something we can all add to our wardrobe.  One green tip on can do is purchase gently used clothes from a thrift store, depending on where you live there might be some high end thrift stores. I have purchase Seven for all humanity jean from used clothing store called Plato's closet. Its a great way to save money and be green at the same time. Vintage is another green way to help out mother earth, we have all heard of the celebrities wearing vintage Chanel, vintage Gucci, and vintage Prada. These garments could be 10 to 20 years old in some cases, don't think that will make it any cheaper though sadly to purchase these vintage lovely's, high end vintage clothes can cost more because they are vintage. A great web site that I love to read is eco fashion world, if green design is something you love but want to learn more about and even vegan fashion. This site is going to be your bible for satisfying your green design with stores that carry green garments, new design products and designers that only create green and earth friendly products.

Hope everyone enjoys the big game, I know I am currently watching the puppy bowl on animal plant...what I cant resist a cute puppy. ( its pretty much a bunch of puppies playing in a little foot ball stadium)

Spring accessories! to help melt the winter blues away.....

Who doesn't love accessories for any outfit, I have always felt that a scarf, bracelet. rings and belts can really make a plane Jane outfit pop with color and keep up withe new the trend.  which is meant for foxy ladies like us can save more money and just accessorize.  The big trend that is coming up this spring is big mixed cabochon stones. The last few seasons have been like jewelry on acid, and we have been seeing a lot of great statement necklaces like the bib necklace which was something I loved to wear when I am in a cocktail dress. But this spring, the Big idea that caught our eye was the use of giant Cabochon-style stones, à la Proenza Schouler and Bottega Veneta. Organic and elegant.

 Of course how could I not post a picture of my stores BCBG marketing the new spring accessories when I am talking about them...and its too cute not too...

New trend for 2011...or is it?

Well you know what they say about fashion, it comes and goes and then it comes back again. well I remember when this trend was back in action I was in Middle school and it made my mum very happy that this trend was coming back....okay here it is Bell Bottoms!

  In 2007  you might remember the last time the issue of flares and bell bottoms faced us was the baggy jean  trend, which was not a success cause fashionable ladies and men like to look fashionable and not messy the baggy jeans look. Was very unforgiving and made women natural shape look a mess. Which is why when skinny jean came to us, it was a saving grace of shape. and created the amazing trend of Leggings which I love and hope stays for a bit longer. But if Bell bottom are done right which I have no fear that our amazing designers will not fail us again like in 2007 with baggy jeans. And we have all seen Rachel Zoe break out some hot 70's chic looks which might be the trending this year...I know I am ready for it.

 And of course I think a modest bell on the bottom flare of the pants will look amazing with a blazer and great pair of heels. Here is Kate Holmes in some 7 for all humanity bell bottoms, which is my point her flare on her bell bottoms is huge and hard to pull off. But she looks good have to give it to her

And on that note I will end on a very modest bell bottom flare jeans from 7 for all humanity...in fact I have two pairs of these jean, that are flare jeans not skinny and they fit like a glove...Love them.

Time for some Spring fashion to beat the winter blues

Lets have a look at  Jean Paul Gaultier Spring Couture 2011...enjoy the little taste of Couture.

Its going to be a good year for Jean Paul that's for sure. I am in love with the Can Can skirt its so fun and fresh. This collection is more Couture that seem to be more wearable instead of just pure fashion madness which is typical the story and I cant complain I love the crazier the better.

Happy Groundhog Day! Phil did NOTsee his shadow, lets talk about boots

Well I guess spring will be coming early because this cute little Phil did not see his shadow...good to know especially after a HUGE snow storm.

Since we are still battling a snow storm out there, hope everyone has lots of food and doesnt need to go out in this blizzard, but in case you do need to out in this storm. I hope you have some kick ass boots....cause I do.
This year a style of boot that was a hit and now it might be more function that fashion....the over the knee boot. Since half of the country is dealing with snow that is about 20 something inches high. I enjoy vintage combat boots, because you cant kill them and they are a true to test the weathers evil deeds.  I do not care for Ugg boots too much and in this weather they are unpractical. simply because they are Suede and don't have a hard shape to them. I am loving tall motorcycle boots, I own a pair of these and mine are not just tall and leather they are also fur lined. So my little paw are not going to freeze off in this weather. 

These babies are Real Combat boots, yes they do not have laces but that is because they are Tanker Boots, Soldiers in the USA Army whom work on tanks wear these hence no laces because there are so many working parts on tank the risk of a soldier losing his foot due to loose laces is very high. Sadly Men are only allowed to work on tank so these babies do not come in women size...no tanker boots for me.

And I am going to end on a little Kate Moss action with the over the knee boots, which I am in love with.

Winter storm of death...well we hope not

Since the Midwest is getting murdered with snow and ice and I currently live in the Midwest and having a lovely snow day at home, so lets talk about winter coats I know we are half way though the season but who doesn't love a good coat?  I am not just talking about looking good cause if your from the windy city, its windy and looks wont keep you warm. I have my staple favorite which is my North face, which is more of a fall coat and one I wear when I have a quick errand to run.  Some of my top favorites are the military style coat, with A line zippers make it a fun coat and chic. I also have a coat for going out in, its a white Cape coat I got from Sak 5th Ave...its nice and chic a very timeless piece that I tend to wear when I am going out to a formal event. I know your thinking Cape coat? what no way! Actually yes way, and just give it a try next time you are in store that has them. My recommendations are Nordstrom, H&M, ASOS and even BCBG has a nice cape coat which I am thinking of purchasing.
