Dressing for the real world

Why yes this girl got a real job! Looks like its time for me to put my big girl pants on. I don't know why but the idea of having to dress up like a professional always seems to make me cringe.  I believe some of it was that when I got my first real job I was still a senior in college and didn't have a lot of money to go shopping for new business attire clothes because my goals then were to save save save and more save. So I admit I did a lot of shopping at thrift stores and I put my sewing skills to work tailoring and altering all of my own clothes that were too big. Though when your parents kick you out when you are a few month away from finishing your bachelors degree you will do what ever you have to do to make sure you survive and have money in the bank to eat. Though that is another story for another day, I also hated getting ready for work because I always felt HUGE in dress pants even when they were skinny pants I just felt fat even though I was wearing a size 2 and yes they fit ( I didn't have to alter everything I bought) I also felt I could not be creative in what I was wearing as well. Well here is round two with getting a big girl job, My hero of a husband let me do something shopping for this new job in hopes that I would feel comfortable in what I was wearing to work because he truly know of all  these struggles because he was right by my side though it all which was also right before we got engaged, so they weren't all bad times.
Also since my college days my taste in clothing has also changed I tend to stay away from the college attire like sweaters, AF T-shirts. Hopefully this time around getting ready for work wont be so such a chore anymore. Wish me luck for my first day which is on Monday and I barely know what I am walking in too. It still doesn't feel real that I have this job even though they sent my all my hiring form training paper work. I keeps thinking do I really have this job???

Hope everyone has had a good week and a great weekend!

Kiss of Red Lips

I normally never ever, wear anything on my lips other then chap-stick or lip gloss pretty much anything with out color. my main concern is keeping these kissers nice and soft and smooth. Since I have moved back home one of my best friends in the whole wide world. ( also a big fashion crush) She is fearless with make up and fashion. I hate to say it but I find my self doing monkey see monkey do with her. We have similar taste and body size as well. Minus she can wear heels and I cant so I will always be green with envy over that.  For a while she has painted her lips a bright Valentino red. She is fair as so am I ( I actually HATE the sun) Maybe I can give it a try.....I went make up shopping with my other fashion hero. I tried on some Lancome Cherries jubilee. I fell head over heels in love, I do feel a bit awful at times doing similar things my friends does. Her style is much more chic then mine.

So to anyone who has a friend that has great style, don't be scared to kind of look up to them for inspiration. God knows its a great way to solve writers block. So here is some inspiration pictures of make up. I hate to say but painting my lips red makes me feel like I have stepped up appearance for the day even if I am wearing simple jeans and a t-shirt.

Color Denim you stole me heart

Sigh its true, after lying to myself about not buying colored denim I did it and I not only did it once I did it twice the girl who hisses at color. I bought color, its nut I know. When investing in colored denim I strongly suggest not buying Joes Jeans or Hudson only because its a trend granted those will be some of the best colored denim money can by. Simple because the quality of these jean is un matched but I purchases a red pair of Calvin klein and blue pair of flying money both pairs under 60$ not super cheap but not super expensive kind of middle of the road. Because I want to wear a trend that will be around for a long time like Leggings and Jeggings god know when winter comes I will be breaking out my winter riding boots and well as vintage combat boots a nod to my husband.

Here is some fashion picture time

Who is the King of the red soul soled shoes?

Well officially is not Christian Louboutin, its Zara! I know its madness its like waking up to Chanel not being the most chicest of all.

So here is the down low of who is suing who over there Red Soled scandal First Christian Louboutin accused Yves Saint Laurent of mimicking the scarlet signature of his famous shoes, then Jessica Simpson was under attack for copy-catting his famous designs before a lawsuit was filed against Zara for the very same thing. Now WWD reports that a French judge ruled in favor of the high street chain, giving it the green light to sell their red-soled shoes. I was really shocked that Zara won, but I am not surprised but the sue craziness  that followed. Though alot of people are still going to think and believe that Christian Louboutin is and was the first to paint the soles of his shoes red

Caviar nails...yum

So I normally love to demonstrate nail art or new idea from nails. But this one will have to sit out because I have a few weddings to go to and test driving Caviar nails isn't something my nails will have time for. I actually saw this on Pinterest go figure.  I watched the how to do this on refinery 29 and decided this one is a sit out for me. I love the effect but its completely unpractical because even after they had something do it live and she was a professional manicurist She had issues keeping the little beads on, which god help you if you have do something like go to the bathroom or wash your hands all the little bead would be gone.

But I do love it and wish it was more realistic and practical to do something like this. Though the Caviar look was created in London on thge runway I am not sure who runway created this little guy. But if it gets refined and the little bead are able to hold on a lot better. I would for sure give it a try, but for now I will leave with these lovely pictures how photographers and professional nail artist do it

Its wedding season!!!

Why yes summer means so many things but as we get old or for me at least the last 2 summer have been wedding season!1 Whoo whoo here comes the bride. So its time to find some foxy wedding cocktail dresses and affordable is key because you will need a dress to the engagement party, the bridal shower, and the wedding it self. I actually missed 2 bridal shower and one engagement party mostly because of life happened and I moved and was trying to get adjusted. But regardless you will need cute dresses or outfits for these events, of course you need to have money left over to get that foxy bride a gift! I actually found great dresses at a place called Francesca's average price was 30-50$ also this store is a one stop shop, they have all the cute accessorize. I also if you have good friends that just got engaged I would strongly suggest keeping your eyes open for a dress you fall in love with because over this weekend I went dress shopping everyday and found nothing, yeah this way you wont find yourself with a wedding coming up and no dress and FYI get them a gift as soon as you find where they are registered for because after all those parties the registry  might be a little slim.  Also There is nothing wrong with wearing a little black dress or a little red dress. Also Wedding will pile in each other like this month I have four wedding to go to, 2 fall on the same day as well. Which because of that I wont be able to attend the fourth

Earth science in Jewely, yes please?

I know in high school I did okay when it came to understanding precious metal and stones. Right now this little trend in jewelry is happening is amazing. I normally I do not do cocktail rings, first one to say it. I usually just wear my wedding ring and that is that, but I saw this and it had to be mine. Yes its kind of huge but I love it. and you can adjust the size but its not like the cocktail rings that stretch these is pure metal adjusting here.  I have seen these a lot of Hautelook.com but I randomly saw this in a store and had the I NEED THIS feeling. which for the most part this type of jewelry is pretty affordable depending on designer as well. this was 10$ so affordable and cute equals mine.

yes i know my nails look like shit, but I just moved so give me a break.
 Happy Friday Love Kitsune63

I dream in Valentino Red...

I know its been so long...update on my life

Sorry Ive been gone for oh so long, but really My husband and I were on vacation and then right after our vacation we moved, to another state so we have been busy. I have been nuts with job hunting and unpacking things. But so far so I have had a few good interview. I even had an interview at Nordstrom, actually it was my second interview. And  I. do. not. think. We are cool for each other, sad face because I love Nordstrom and I know I would learn a lot from them but I don't think that job was a match for me and my needs. I had no idea in the retail world Nordstrom busy season is actually the summer....banana which suck the big one for me because I have 3 wedding in their busy season and seeing my BFF getting married is super important to me then a job that seems to want to own my life.Yeah we are not a match

But happy news, being home with family is A mazing ( yes I ment to make that type -o)
I am back in the windy city thank god, where fashion things happen whoo whoo.
Ill be back posting about more interesting things other then me...like Oh fashion or cute things

watch how you word your shit! or you going to get sued

So I found this little article interesting but I am not super surprised about it either  Dolce & Gabbana has just sued a small, sea-side jewelry shop in Cape Town, South Africa, for naming the store "Dolce and Banana." According to WWD, the business has been around for 12 years and has developed into a tourist attraction. Owner Mijou Beller didn't have enough money to fight in the lawsuit, and has apparently changed her name for $13,195. According to its Facebook, it seems like Mijou has dropped the "Dolce" part in the name, and now goes by just &Banana. It's a smart move, as far as we're concerned. 'Cause as we all know, "There's always money in the banana stand." (WWD

Of course I got this little tidbit from refinery 29,  they are always great fro a random story.  I kind of feel bad for the little shop because they didn't even have the money to fight back or anything other then change the name as D&G wishes were. I wish they would go after the companies that product cheap shitty hand bags tht use child labor. But that's just me..and actually the little bracelet is pretty cute i might have to support these guys and buy it. I do love supporting small business.

the new herion is Pinterest

Yeah we all know that sentence is true, because if you have not tried or used Pinterest you can not argue its additive nature.  I know there have been times I cant think of something to write about and I take a look at Pinterest and find my inspiration easily with fashion or putting an outfit together. As well as baking god do I love baking and there are some amazing idea on Pinterest that people have tried and reworked the recipe. I have always been some one on a budget and there are many times I force my self to be on tight budget because that is how I roll. I love DYI because it allow my family to save money and be creative with what we have, and Pinterest has loads and loads of DYI ideas posting every five minutes at least. So I strongly suggest you give it look, here is some pictures from Pinterest.

what I learned from a facial

So I had my first facial I know bad very I should have had one years ago, granted I am only 25 going on 26 and I though I take fairly good care of my skin.  What I learned from this facial or what my facial lady told me. I need to start using a toner to tone my skin at least twice week, I can easy do that. While we were on vacation I wore a 100 SPF yeah I am hard core like that. Well probably yes its good for your body but bad for face because the skin on ones face is thinner then on the body. 100 SPF has lots and lots of harsh chemical that are not in your skin best interest the most your face should see is 30SPF. Which is fair to me, I can live with that.  Another fun fact, I use baby shampoo as my make up remover because it does such a great job removing my eye make up. Sadly this also filled with super harsh chemicals for my face so I have been using it to remove my eye make up and just simple use a cleanser for me face.  I know I was a poor college student and now and I am adult trying to make it in the world but my husband agree with me that having a spa day to treat our skin is important and as well as massages since my whole back was a big knot, poor masseuse. I learned what the knot can actually lead to arthritis and lots of pain in the back ( we just had back massages) typically a whole body massage is ideal but hey that really expensive and sometime really awkward.

So here is my skin care regiment
Use Cleanser five days a week
Use a mask twice a week
Use a toner twice a week
Use a scrub three times a week
Always use a moisturizer that has sunscreen in it
Also always use anti-aging night cream as well.
I know its alot but you will see a change in your skin, I typically do all of these and I don't have it marked on the calendar what day is what day do to what with my skin but I know when I need do treat me skin with these. Also if you humanly can possible maybe do this, use green natural products as well.

Hope your skin loves you back

Gossip on eco and good stores to shop, you will be suprised who is using child labor

For my foxy ladies that are compassionate with where they shop and want to only shop at places that care about their employees, which is me. I have worked for several companies that clearly do not care about their employees happiness not going to name names here but they know who they are.  I found this chat which list several store I shop at, we all know I love Target, they didnt do so bad ranking wise and thank god they never got in trouble for using child labor like some companies. Oddly I notices that some of the really high end stores like Zara or Topshop, have and currently still use child labor and treat their employees like dirt, well guess who is not going to be shopping there anymore. Yes I know the quality of the clothes is great but knowing that some poor kid is sewing those pants is not cool in my book.

Here is the chat enjoy and I hope this changes how you shop and where you shop

A new love of Eye Liner

I must be on an Eye Liner binge or something, because I was nuts about the Stila eye liner. Now I am nuts about the gel eye liner you use with a brush to apply. I was talking with one of my very good friends whom is a make up guru. She was trying to get my to try a gel eye liner because you are literally painting your face, which for some of us we dont have the time or patients to wait to do it or give it a try. Yesterday was my day off and I was going to give it a try because it I had to waste ton of time washing and redoing my face I had the time. But I actually only had to redo it once to get the lines right. I cant say which one is the best Gel eye liner to use but if its your first time you should probably stick with a brand alot because you are comfortable with them. I have heard nothing but amazing things from the MAC gel eye liner. My good friend uses MAC and when I was staying with her watching her put it on was like watching her paint her eyes and she was able to create all these different lines and shape. Which if you love make up you want something that keep on creating new and exciting things not just a one trick pony.

Enjoy love

whos watching the Oscars?

To be honest, I really never watch the award I know its hard core fashion porn. See who is wearing what and who, but I honestly have a hard time watching it live and freaking out. its actually really hard for me to put my figure on why I don't wait the red carpet, part of it is probably because every single celebrity that claim to love fashion will be watching each other with a fine tooth comb, which always made me insane. Especially Kelly fucking Osbourne ( really hate her) simply because she talks mad shit about everyone call talking with people who are actually talented fat and ugly....yeah not a fan of that bad behavior as well as she claims to love fashion as much as then next guy. E news and E fashion stuff can really go suck an egg. its filled with rich people who are just lucky to be able to afford the designer names I highly doubt they really love it.

Enjoy the show, i will be watching the walking dead.

A little home made V-day truffle receipe

Hello my loves,
I know V-day is upon us and we all are probably getting all these emails for sales, free shipping on chocolate blah blah...Well my in laws are big on cooking as a way of showing affection which always won my heart sing when I would come home from work to find that my husband has created an amazing meal for me. And i am not talking about the little easy meal from Rachel ray ( cant stand her) No my husband can cook like Anthony Bourdain, but what i am getting at is a gift that home made or cook has more meaning that some cheap chocolates that aren't very good and didn't take much thought behind them. I vote for the boys to make Truffles which are actual super easy to make, no joke. Here is a super easy recipe Yes it says 2 hrs BUT that is because Truffles need time to rest and set just like bread. which mean make it and let it set. Easy as 1,2,3. Also you can get thoughtful kind of cute stuff at world market to wrap your creation. Everyone win, you look good for making her chocolate related and she gets good chocolate and thinks you are a chef!
Go forth and make these Truffles for your ladies! and god speed!

Birchbox brilliance!

hello lovely's,
So I got my order of Birchbox yesterday and in it was a Stila Eye liner Purple Tang. Normal I would never in a million year try purple eye liner....well I gave it a shot and actually loved it!  I loved how it really didn't snug when I touched my eyes, as well as how smooth it went on it seem like it was creamy and silky.  I even went back to the site and ordered a lion grey, its actually very dark in color. I guess I like my eyes super dark, I like to look like a raccoon just got out of a night club. One thing I love about this site is that item that were in your box for the month ship free if you would like to order another one or a full size of the item.

Here is the link to the site...its amazing FYI

Ready for the 2012 color trends?

New year new trends, the new year looks pretty natural actually. Lots of soft oatmeal, browns, tans, and grays, neutral tones were often worn one on top of the other, for a layered mulch-dimensional effect. As well as soft pastels, nothing bright and bold this year. Which is not saying one can make this year a bright and bold year for you but while you are looking soft and natural.

Enjoy Kitsune63
and a Happy new year!
